Hunting for the giant snakehead

We still can't get the giant snakehead by casting from the lakeshore. So,we decided to buy a small boat to navigate around the lake.Plus,we heard from a local guy around the lake that there are also another species in the lake, call 'Siong'...which are big and always swimming in a group of 5-7.
Anyway,we went to another place and caught the catfish...just to 'buang gian'.

The giant snakehead territory.

Some anglers trying their luck casting for the snakehead.3 snakeheads about 2-3kg big shown up but didn't catch their lure.

Another view of the lake.

The other part of the lake can be seen from here. But only can be reached by boat.

Sunset is nice here.

The regular catfish.

Patin again.

The ordinary day.

My friend went to Sabah last week and took this picture of the new sea creature at Pulau Manukan. Can anybody here tell me what species is this?

Since someone asked me how is a giant snakehead fish look like, below is the picture of the fish. This fish is one of the best fighter in the tropic fresh water.

  1. how are you, my friend! looks like you have a great day fishing even if you didnt catch the snakehead. I wonder what it looks like, my first time actually to hear that name. well, anyway, i am a lover of nature and your sunset pic is beautiful and the lake looks so quiet and peaceful.

Just hoping another luck for you in your next fishing trip. We are planning to do some fishing trip before the cold season starts here. I hope we can catch many fish particularly snapper as i love to cook it any way, I want.

  3. First off; I decided to add your site to my other two sites ( http://deerslayercom.blogspot.com and http:// deerhuntingcom.blogspot.com ) which I will do along with your logo in the next couple of days. Second; I 've heard of the giant snakehead fish from a movie but thought it was a myth until now. Man , I guess you never really know what type of fish or other creatures are out there until you do some searching. Great photos and thanks for posting them for the world to see and I really like the articles you write with them. Third; Welcome to the Outdoor Bloggers Summit and thanks for joining. I'm sure there are alot of articles and bloggers in the blogroll there that can give you ideas on fishing. Keep up the great work with your site,it's always appreciated by everyone.
